Here are the cleaning steps you need to follow:

Put water and vinegar in a pot

Cover and place on stove to cook

Then remove the cover

Allow the steam to rise to the hood

You will see that  the grease and all the dirt stuck in it will come off easily after a few minutes  . This is the degreasing effect of white vinegar.
